Freak Out! Fest existed to celebrate queer & trans voices in punk music and its surrounding communities. The fest intended to share and amplify voices of queer/trans/+ people who exist at variously intersecting positions and identities and to celebrate the subjectivities and differences present within that range of experience. Freak Out! Fest was a safer space for fighting assimilation of body and mind, working towards collective healing, and building collective power.
